Heavy-gauge vapor barriers, sealed foundation vents, and a dedicated sump discharge line so your Elba, NY crawl space stops feeding moisture into the floor joists above it.
Elba, NY crawl spaces vary a lot in how they were originally built, and a liner that's correct for one home can be undersized for another depending on foot traffic and storage use. We size thickness to how the space is actually used.
Every crew member is trained specifically on liner installation, seam sealing, and vent encapsulation, not general basement work.
Our technicians carry encapsulation materials on the truck for most standard-size crawl spaces, cutting down on return visits.
Pricing is based on your crawl space's actual square footage and condition, quoted in writing before liner installation begins.
A dedicated crawl space dehumidifier is sized to your square footage, not a one-size-fits-all unit.
Every Elba, NY Crawl Space Encapsulation job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.
Extraction equipment includes submersible pumps sized for tight crawl space access points.
We install heavy-duty liner rated for crawl space conditions, sealed at every seam and pier to stop ground moisture from reaching the floor joists.
Sealed vents are paired with mechanical dehumidification so the space doesn't just trap humidity instead of venting it.
A crawl space needs its own sump basin and discharge line separate from any basement system, since the two spaces drain differently.
We also check subfloor insulation for water damage and replace anything compromised before closing the liner.
This helps us bring the right liner thickness and dehumidifier size on the first visit.
A technician physically enters the space to check for standing water, existing liner condition, vent count, and duct exposure.
You'll see square footage, liner grade, vent sealing, and dehumidifier specs broken out in the written estimate.
We re-test humidity after installation to confirm the space is holding at a healthy level before we consider the job done.

"They caught duct condensation we didn't even know was happening down there. Sealed everything up during the same visit."

"Musty smell in our upstairs hallway is completely gone now that the crawl space is sealed."

We can scope either option depending on your budget and how severe the existing moisture problem is.
We'll recommend a thickness based on how the space is actually used, not just a default.
In most Elba, NY climates, yes — open vents pull in humid air that undoes a lot of the benefit of the liner alone.
If the smell persists after encapsulation, that usually points to a separate moisture source we'd need to investigate.
Yes — we extract existing water first, then proceed with liner and vent sealing once the space is dry enough to work safely.
Most residential jobs finish in one to two days depending on square footage and how much prep work is needed.
