We match liner thickness to how your Montrose, MI space is actually used, not a one-size-fits-all default.
Montrose, MI crawl spaces and basements see different levels of ground moisture depending on soil type and grading, which is part of why we size liner thickness to the specific space instead of defaulting to the same product every time.
Seam tape and pier wrapping are done to the standard that keeps warranties valid.
Standard-size crawl spaces and basements can frequently be completed in a single visit.
Pricing is based on your space's actual square footage and liner thickness selected, quoted in writing before installation.
We recommend liner thickness based on foot traffic, storage use, and moisture severity, not just selling the thickest option by default.
Every Montrose, MI Vapor Barrier Installation job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.
We overlap seams per manufacturer spec and seal them with rated tape, not just tucked edges that separate over time.
For unfinished basements, a vapor barrier under future flooring prevents ground moisture from reaching finished materials installed later.
We use pier boots designed specifically for this purpose rather than improvised wrapping that fails within a year or two.
Existing vapor barriers with failed or separated seams can often be repaired rather than fully replaced, extending the life of a system that's otherwise sound.
Old, torn, or undersized ground cover gets removed and replaced with properly rated liner sized to fully cover the space, piers included.
This helps us bring the correct liner and sealing materials on the first visit.
We also check for standing water or excessive debris that would need addressing before liner installation.
We explain why a given thickness fits your space's usage rather than defaulting to the most expensive liner.
We walk the finished installation with you to confirm seams are properly sealed before calling the job complete.

"Recommended a thicker liner since we use the crawl space for storage — made sense once they explained it."
