We match liner thickness to how your Garwood, NJ space is actually used, not a one-size-fits-all default.
Garwood, NJ crawl spaces and basements see different levels of ground moisture depending on soil type and grading, which is part of why we size liner thickness to the specific space instead of defaulting to the same product every time.
We follow manufacturer overlap and seam-sealing specifications on every install, not shortcuts that look fine until moisture finds the gaps.
Vapor barrier installation is typically a quicker job than full encapsulation, and we can often schedule Garwood, NJ appointments within a few days.
Pricing is based on your space's actual square footage and liner thickness selected, quoted in writing before installation.
Under-speccing thickness for a heavily used space is one of the most common installation mistakes we see and correct.
Every Garwood, NJ Vapor Barrier Installation job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.
Heavy-gauge liner is installed across the entire crawl space floor and up the foundation walls, sealed at every seam to block ground moisture transmission.
For unfinished basements, a vapor barrier under future flooring prevents ground moisture from reaching finished materials installed later.
We use pier boots designed specifically for this purpose rather than improvised wrapping that fails within a year or two.
We inspect the full liner before recommending repair versus replacement so you're not paying for a full redo unnecessarily.
We dispose of old material and debris as part of the job, leaving the space ready for the new barrier.
Tell us the square footage, whether it's a crawl space or basement, and how the space is used so we can recommend the right thickness.
We also check for standing water or excessive debris that would need addressing before liner installation.
You'll see the recommended mil thickness, total square footage, and pier wrapping scope broken out with pricing.
Most standard-size installations are completed in a single visit, sealed and ready the same day.
"They wrapped every single pier, which the last contractor apparently skipped entirely."
— Garwood Homeowner
"Recommended a thicker liner since we use the crawl space for storage — made sense once they explained it."
— Garwood Customer
"Seam tape on our old barrier had failed everywhere. They repaired what could be saved instead of pushing a full replacement we didn't need."
— Garwood Homeowner
"Humidity in the crawl space dropped noticeably within days of the new liner going in."

We recommend thickness based on how your specific Garwood, NJ space is actually used.
Often yes — if the liner itself is largely intact and only seams have failed, seam repair can extend its life without a full redo.
We use rated pier boots rather than improvised wrapping.
We can scope either depending on your budget and how severe the existing moisture issue is.
Larger or more complex spaces with extensive pier wrapping may take a bit longer, which we'll flag in the estimate.
We can discuss combining it with dehumidification if the smell doesn't fully resolve.
