Why Choose Us

Why Beaverton, MI Property Owners Choose SGP Waterproofing for Crawl Space Encapsulation

Beaverton, MI crawl spaces vary a lot in how they were originally built, and a liner that's correct for one home can be undersized for another depending on foot traffic and storage use. We size thickness to how the space is actually used.

1

Certified Encapsulation Installers

Every crew member is trained specifically on liner installation, seam sealing, and vent encapsulation, not general basement work.

2

Rapid Local Dispatch

Beaverton, MI crawl space calls get scheduled fast, especially when there's standing water or an active mold smell involved.

3

Flat-Rate, Square-Footage Pricing

No hourly billing — the number we quote is the number on the final invoice.

4

Dehumidification & Humidity Testing

We measure relative humidity before and after installation to confirm the space is actually staying below the threshold where mold and wood rot take hold.

What We Do

What Our Crawl Space Encapsulation Service Actually Covers

We scope every Crawl Space Encapsulation job in person before quoting it, since two properties with the same symptom rarely need the same fix.

Crawl Space

Standing Water Extraction

Before any liner goes down, we pump out existing standing water and remove debris left behind by prior drainage failures.

Crawl Space

12–20 Mil Vapor Barrier Liner

Liner thickness is selected based on foot traffic and how the space will be used going forward, not a flat default.

Crawl Space

Foundation Vent Sealing

Open foundation vents pull in humid outside air, which is often the real driver of Beaverton, MI crawl space condensation — we seal them as part of encapsulation.

Crawl Space

Dedicated Sump Discharge

A crawl space needs its own sump basin and discharge line separate from any basement system, since the two spaces drain differently.

Crawl Space

Insulation & Duct Sealing

We also check subfloor insulation for water damage and replace anything compromised before closing the liner.

FAQ

What Beaverton, MI Customers Ask Us Most About Crawl Space Encapsulation

What's the difference between a vapor barrier and full encapsulation?▼

A vapor barrier is just the liner on the ground; full encapsulation seals vents, walls, and often adds a dehumidifier for complete moisture control.

How thick should my crawl space liner be?▼

We'll recommend a thickness based on how the space is actually used, not just a default.

Do I need to seal my foundation vents?▼

In most Beaverton, MI climates, yes — open vents pull in humid air that undoes a lot of the benefit of the liner alone.

Will encapsulation fix a musty smell in my house?▼

If the smell persists after encapsulation, that usually points to a separate moisture source we'd need to investigate.

Can you encapsulate a crawl space with standing water?▼

Yes — we extract existing water first, then proceed with liner and vent sealing once the space is dry enough to work safely.

How long does crawl space encapsulation take?▼

Spaces with extensive prior water damage or debris may take longer — we'll give you a realistic estimate up front.
