Why Choose Us

Four Reasons Our Crawl Space Encapsulation Clients Don't Call Anyone Else

Oneonta, NY crawl spaces vary a lot in how they were originally built, and a liner that's correct for one home can be undersized for another depending on foot traffic and storage use. We size thickness to how the space is actually used.

1

Certified Encapsulation Installers

Every crew member is trained specifically on liner installation, seam sealing, and vent encapsulation, not general basement work.

2

Rapid Local Dispatch

Our technicians carry encapsulation materials on the truck for most standard-size crawl spaces, cutting down on return visits.

3

Flat-Rate, Square-Footage Pricing

No hourly billing — the number we quote is the number on the final invoice.

4

Dehumidification & Humidity Testing

We measure relative humidity before and after installation to confirm the space is actually staying below the threshold where mold and wood rot take hold.

What We Do

The Full Scope of Our Oneonta, NY Crawl Space Encapsulation Work

Every Oneonta, NY Crawl Space Encapsulation job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.

Crawl Space

Standing Water Extraction

Before any liner goes down, we pump out existing standing water and remove debris left behind by prior drainage failures.

Crawl Space

12–20 Mil Vapor Barrier Liner

Liner thickness is selected based on foot traffic and how the space will be used going forward, not a flat default.

Crawl Space

Foundation Vent Sealing

Sealed vents are paired with mechanical dehumidification so the space doesn't just trap humidity instead of venting it.

Crawl Space

Dedicated Sump Discharge

A crawl space needs its own sump basin and discharge line separate from any basement system, since the two spaces drain differently.

Crawl Space

Insulation & Duct Sealing

Exposed ductwork inside an unencapsulated crawl space collects condensation, which we address by insulating and sealing ducts while the space is open.

FAQ

What Oneonta, NY Customers Ask Us Most About Crawl Space Encapsulation

What's the difference between a vapor barrier and full encapsulation?▼

A vapor barrier is just the liner on the ground; full encapsulation seals vents, walls, and often adds a dehumidifier for complete moisture control.

How thick should my crawl space liner be?▼

Most residential spaces do well with a 12-15 mil liner; spaces used for storage or with foot traffic often need 20 mil for durability.

Do I need to seal my foundation vents?▼

In most Oneonta, NY climates, yes — open vents pull in humid air that undoes a lot of the benefit of the liner alone.

Will encapsulation fix a musty smell in my house?▼

If the smell persists after encapsulation, that usually points to a separate moisture source we'd need to investigate.

Can you encapsulate a crawl space with standing water?▼

Standing water doesn't disqualify a space from encapsulation; it's just the first step in the process.

How long does crawl space encapsulation take?▼

Spaces with extensive prior water damage or debris may take longer — we'll give you a realistic estimate up front.
