Why Choose Us

Why Somerset, MD Property Owners Choose SGP Waterproofing for Foundation Crack Repair

Misclassifying a crack is the single most common mistake in this trade — treating a structural crack with the wrong material, or injecting a crack that actually needed a broader drainage fix behind it. We classify before we inject, every time.

1

Licensed Crack Classification

Our technicians are trained to tell a cosmetic hairline crack apart from one that signals structural movement, before recommending a fix.

2

Fast Local Response

Most crack injection appointments can be scheduled within a day or two of your call.

3

Flat-Rate Injection Pricing

Pricing is based on crack length and injection material, quoted in writing before we drill any injection ports.

4

Epoxy & Polyurethane Both On the Truck

Polyurethane expands to fill voids behind an actively weeping wall; epoxy is reserved for cracks that need structural bonding.

What We Do

The Full Scope of Our Somerset, MD Foundation Crack Repair Work

Every Somerset, MD Foundation Crack Repair job starts with an inspection, not a generic package — here's what that typically includes.

Crack Repair

Low-Pressure Epoxy Injection

Structural cracks that aren't actively leaking get epoxy injection, which bonds the concrete back together rather than just sealing the surface.

Crack Repair

Polyurethane Injection for Active Leaks

Polyurethane cures even in the presence of water, which makes it the right call for a crack that's actively letting water through.

Crack Repair

Stair-Step Block Crack Repair

Stair-step cracking in block foundation walls needs a different injection port pattern than a vertical crack in poured concrete, and we adjust technique accordingly.

Crack Repair

Vertical & Horizontal Wall Crack Sealing

Vertical cracks are usually settlement-related and often isolated; horizontal cracks can indicate hydrostatic pressure pushing on the wall and get flagged for further evaluation.

Crack Repair

Pre-Sale Crack Inspection & Documentation

Selling a Somerset, MD home with a flagged foundation crack? We can inspect, repair, and provide documentation for the buyer's lender or inspector.

How It Works

From Call to Resolution: How Foundation Crack Repair Works in Somerset, MD

01

Call & Crack Description

Tell us the crack's location, whether it's actively leaking, and roughly how wide it is so we can bring the right materials.

02

On-Site Crack Classification

We also check the exterior grading near the crack, since poor drainage is often what caused it in the first place.

03

Written Injection Quote

You'll get a price based on crack length and material — epoxy or polyurethane — before any drilling starts.

04

Injection & Cure Verification

We check the injection ports after curing to confirm the material fully filled the crack before we consider the job done.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Foundation Crack Repair

How do you classify contaminated water versus a structural crack repair?▼

Crack classification is separate from water contamination — we assess whether the crack is structural or cosmetic based on width, pattern, and any wall bowing.

Will you repair hairline cracks or only large ones?▼

Catching a crack early with injection usually costs less than waiting until it's actively leaking.

Is epoxy or polyurethane better for my crack?▼

We make the call on-site after inspecting the crack, not before we've seen it.

How long does crack injection take?▼

Multiple cracks or hard-to-access areas can extend the timeline, which we'll flag in the written quote.

Will the crack reopen after injection?▼

If new movement occurs elsewhere in the wall, that's a separate issue we'd assess independently.

Do you provide documentation for real estate transactions?▼

Turnaround is usually fast enough to fit within a typical closing timeline.

Our Services in Somerset, MD

Somerset's history dates back to 1890, when five government scientists purchased a 50-acre (20-hectare) parcel of tobacco farmland from the government for the purpose of setting up a residential community. This land was originally part of the Friendship Tract, a 1713 gift of 3,000 acres (1,200 hectares) to a couple of early Maryland colonists which is now the basis for the nearby Friendship Heights area. Five early streets were arranged and remain to this day: Dorset, Warwick, Surrey, Cumberland, and Essex, after the English counties. The first home in Somerset was occupied by Dr. Charles A. Crampton in 1893, and by 1905 there were 35 residences.
